Overview 

Innova delivered a complete subsea electro-hydraulic control system to a leading defence contractor, enabling safe deployment and recovery of a submarine rescue unit via a moon pool cradle system. 

Challenge 

The main challenge was ensuring precise, reliable control of a critical handling system operating in harsh offshore conditions. This included accurate positioning, secure locking mechanisms, and real-time monitoring—placing high demands on system integration, reliability, and safety. 

Solution 

Innova delivered a fully integrated system based on its proven product portfolio, featuring: 

• Hydraulic valve packs for precise control of cylinders and locking functions 

• Matrix MkII+ for efficient fiber optic multiplexing, data handling and power control 

• Powermaster C3 75kW unit for electric to hydraulic power conversion 

• Integrated sensors, cameras, and lighting for monitoring and operator feedback 

The system combined control, power, and monitoring into a compact subsea solution with minimal customization.
