Maintenance

I see scratches on my canister after use, is that harmful for the Matrix Mk II+?
What is the purpose of the anodes on Mk II+?
How do I clean/service the connectors on the Matrix canister after a dive?
Are the dummy connectors important to use? The bulkhead connectors are, after all, rated for open face pressure up to several thousand meters?

Settings recommendations

C3 – 48 VDC: I have changed the module but there is still no 48 VDC out on the connector?

Troubleshooting:  

Ground fault

How does the Ground fault system work on the Mk II+?
Is there any current out on the connector when the channel is switched off?
I get a ground fault on C4, C5 or C6, even when the power is shut off?
I get an alarm on ground fault – How can I troubleshoot this?

Serial

What is the difference between RS232 and RS485?
The RS232 line does not work

My serial equipment is operating at a specific baudrate – Do I need to set the baudrate on the Matrix?

Ethernet

How do I connect to the C9 Ethernet channel on the Topside unit?
Is there a switch or router inside the Matrix handling the Ethernet channels?

What is the level on the PPS/Trigger signal output on the Matrix?
What is the signal level input that is handled by the Matrix?

Fuses

My instrument is not drawing much current, but the channel goes red and the fuse trips again?

Fibre

My system has a high optical attenuation/loss on all channels on Matrix Mk II+

Thermal impact on electrical components

Support

When contacting Matrix Support, it is appreciated if the following information is included in the email: 

  • Serial number of the system  
  • FW version of the topside unit (can be read from the status page) 
  • Troubleshooting steps attempted (power cycling, replacing cables, etc.) 
  • If relevant, which external equipment is used
